The Team:

Datadog's Finance team collaborates with teams across the organization, providing commercial, operational and analytical support to ensure that Datadog's business continues to scale rapidly and efficiently. 

The Opportunity:

As an FP&A leader, you will be tasked with driving Datadog’s strategic decisions to support growth and efficiency targets. Reporting to the VP, FP&A, and working closely with the executive team, you will manage the Engineering and Product financials by utilizing financial data to inform business decisions. You will be a people manager tasked with the development and career progression of your group.

What You'll Do:

  • Partnering with Engineering and Product leadership, including the CTO and CPO
  • Running annual budget and planning process  for R&D
  • Headcount planning, reporting and analytics
  • Managing gross margin and cloud hosting spend approaching $1B run-rate across CSPs (cloud service providers)
  • Enhancing product-level understanding, including product-level resource allocation, profitability, and margins
  • Partnering with deal desk on large customer contracting and product pricing
  • Supporting quarterly close, board, and earnings cycles as it relates to R&D and gross margin trends
  • Working on other strategic and ad hoc projects 

Who You Are:

  • 10+ years of professional experience; Including time in FP&A and may include a background in investment banking, equity research, consulting, or other relevant field  
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or economics 
  • Mastery of Excel and PowerPoint with proven experience in building financial models and managing complex data  
  • You are a clear, concise communicator that works well with others
  • Managerial and leadership experience

Bonus Points:

  • MBA or CFA is a plus but not required; 
  • Solid understanding of Pigment is a plus, but not required
  • Experience in or understanding of a consumption-based software business model
