Product Manager II - Onboarding, Product Adoption

New York, New York, USA

Our Onboarding Product Team is ultimately responsible for the experience of users engaging with Datadog for the first time: from prospects evaluating Datadog as their monitoring solution, to new teammates joining a fully operating Datadog environment, through to team leads considering a complementary Datadog Product to monitor their stack. Our ultimate goal is to ensure a smooth, high-impact introduction to the Datadog platform.

Onboarding plays a dual role:

  • As a product team, we own cross-functional user journeys such as the sign-up flow, homepage, and fleet automation, guiding users toward the Datadog solutions that meet their needs and optimizing for time-to-value.
  • As a platform team, we empower all Datadog product groups to tackle their own onboarding challenges, providing business insights, best practices, and targeted user experiences that drive adoption of their features.

As a PM for Product Adoption, in the Onboarding team, your mission is to connect users with the full value Datadog has to offer. You’ll be introducing the right content and the right features at the right moment, finding the right balance between progressive disclosure and comprehensive discovery. In this role, you’ll collaborate with peers who oversee Telemetry and Growth to shape a unified onboarding journey.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the different personas onboarding Datadog, as well as broad understanding of the whole Datadog Product suite.
  • Define, track, and report on success through key onboarding metrics such as time-to-value, active users, feature usage that demonstrate onboarding effectiveness.
  • Accelerate and personalize onboarding, connecting users and teams with our out-of-the-box content precisely when it aligns with their adoption journey.
  • Represent the Product in collaborations with Analyst teams to set quality standards, drive consistency between products, assets and integrations, and coordinate priorities.
  • Help users become progressively acquainted with Datadog’s features—whether they’re first-time users or experienced customers eager to explore hundreds of new features released annually.
  • Encourage other product groups to improve onboarding within their areas by developing an adoption-centric mindset and sharing best practices across the organization.

Who You Are:

  • You have a proven track record (3+ years) as a Product Manager, ideally at a SaaS B2B company demonstrating successful product launches and user adoption initiatives.
  • You have experience working as a Platform Product Manager, or collaborating with Platform PMs, or leading cross-functional initiatives (programs, squads, guilds).
  • You have a technical background relevant to Datadog’s business. You have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience. MBA is a plus.
  • You have first-hand experience with full-stack observability and monitoring solutions, preferably with tools like Datadog.
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present your ideas effectively to both technical stakeholders and executives.
  • You have experience analyzing data, deriving insights, and making data-driven decisions to improve customer-focused outcomes.

Datadog values people from all walks of life. We know not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That’s okay. If you’re passionate about technology and want to grow your experience, we encourage you to apply.
