Datadog's Investor Relations team is tasked with communication of the company’s strategy, financial performance, metrics, and market position to the investment community. The Investor Relations Director role is a strategic role that will report to the SVP, Investor Relations and Strategic Finance, and interact regularly with company executives, colleagues in the finance team and across the company, sell-side analysts, and existing and prospective shareholders.
We are seeking an Investor Relations Director to join Datadog. They will play a significant role in the design, creation, delivery, and communication of information to the investment community. They will be instrumental in the quarterly earnings process, including writing the press release and script, as well as preparing the management team for Q&A. They will also craft and execute investor outreach events in various formats, and meet with investors and prospective investors. In doing so, this cross-functional role will partner with many groups across the company to unify company messaging, including Finance, Legal, Product, and Marketing.

What You’ll Do:
- Participate in the quarterly earnings process, including writing the press release and script, and preparing management for Q&A; support and contribution to SEC filings and other public communications.
- Understand financial statements and performance; formulate quarterly revenue and profit guidance, in partnership with FP&A
- Lead our interaction with Datadog's 30+ covering sell-side research analysts, as well as analysts performing due diligence
- Discuss company business model, financials, product innovation, GTM efforts, market opportunities, demand conditions, competitive environment, and long-term strategy with investors and analysts.
- Ensure regular communication with existing top shareholders, while targeting new potential long-term shareholders
- Prioritize and organize conferences and analyst sessions for IR/management to participate in or host
- Organize additional investor outreach opportunities, including analyst/investor days, non-deal roadshows, presentations, bus tours, and other events.
- Support the preparation of presentations, including board material, investor decks, and other presentations
- Lead comps analyses versus other SaaS/software companies and other equity market analyses to understand Datadog’s valuation and positioning.
- Support ad hoc analytical projects from management, finance, etc.
Who You Are:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to speak confidently with executive leadership, investors, sell-side analysts, and others at senior and junior levels
- Deep understanding of financial statements and metrics drivers, dependencies, and implications for analysis and forecasting
- Ability to understand the nuances of Datadog’s business model, product, and market, to distill into investment narrative and investors’ tactical areas of interest
- Knowledge and ability to discuss the evolution and business models in the enterprise software and cloud spaces
- Experience at a high-growth tech company is a plus, but not required
- BA/BS in finance, accounting, economics, or engineering; MBA, CFA, or other advanced graduate degree or designation preferred
- 8+ years of experience in investor relations, investment banking, equity research, or equity investing (or similar experience)
- Highly proficient with Excel; ability and interest in learning analytical tools and software programming languages as needed
