Director, Enterprise Sales Engineering - Brazil

Datadog is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Director of Sales Engineering to lead a team of Sales Engineers and managers to drive Enterprise New Logo acquisition and Growth. As a leader within the Sales Engineering organization, you will collaborate with our Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to shape the technical vision for prospective and existing clients, focusing on high-impact partnerships, leadership, and technical expertise.
In this role, you will recruit, mentor, and lead a team responsible for delivering value-based technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-value (POV) engagements. The Director of Sales Engineering will foster cross-functional relationships, strategize with Account Executives and Sales Leadership to drive pre-sales success, ensuring that Datadog’s platform solutions resonate with client needs in dynamic, multi-cloud environments across areas of Observability and Security

What You Will Do:
Leadership & Team Development
- Hire, onboard, and develop a high-performing team of Sales Engineers and first-line managers across Latin America
- Provide ongoing coaching and development for team members, focusing on both technical skills and sales acumen.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, feedback sessions, and career development planning to foster a collaborative and growth-oriented team culture.
Strategic Sales Partnership
- Partner with Sales leadership to define and articulate the Datadog value proposition to clients, aligning solutions with their business objectives.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders within Datadog’s largest accounts, aligning technical solutions with business outcomes.
- Ensure the team is proficient in Datadog’s entire suite of products and is up-to-date with new features, competitive landscape, and industry trends.
- Work closely with Product Management and Marketing to relay customer feedback and inform the roadmap.
Process & Operational Excellence
- Develop and refine sales engineering processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance pre-sales productivity and scalability.
- Implement best practices for customer engagement, POV management, and cross-functional alignment.
- Track and analyze performance metrics, identifying areas for process improvement and team efficiency.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Build and nurture relationships with cross-functional leaders in Customer Success, Product, Technical Post Sales, Marketing, and Engineering to ensure seamless transitions from pre-sales to post-sales and a unified customer experience.
Who You Are:
Experience
- 10+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or a similar technical pre-sales role, with 5+ years in a management or leadership role.
- Proven experience in the cloud, SaaS, or IT infrastructure space, with a strong understanding of monitoring, observability, and security solutions.
- Exceptional leadership and coaching abilities, with a track record of building and scaling high-performing teams.
- Able to travel via auto, train or air up to 40% of the time
- Ability to articulate complex technical concepts and corresponding business outcomes in simple, impactful terms, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with MEDDICC, Command of Message (CoM), or similar sales methodologies.
