Senior Director, Public Sector Marketing

Datadog is seeking a Sr. Director to lead our Public Sector Marketing team to be based in either Washington DC or NYC. This role reports to the Vice President of Digital Operations & Field Marketing. As Sr. Director of Marketing for the Public Sector, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our Public Sector marketing strategy. Your leadership will drive the expansion of Datadog's presence in this dynamic and rapidly evolving market. We are seeking an individual with A proven track record in the Public Sector marketing with deep experience leading cross functional teams.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead a high performing cross functional Public Sector marketing team consisting of marketers across Field, Product, Digital, and Content marketing. 
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of Datadog's products, market position, personas, competition, and market trends.
  • You will act as the main point of contact and enablement for the public sector sales team, ensuring effective communication of marketing plans and performance. Regularly presenting metrics in QSRs, Global Field MKT QBRs, regional all hands, and leadership meetings. 
  • Utilize third-party organizations, media outlets,  agencies, and partners to create demand and generate leads across various channels. 
  • Optimize the Public Sector channel mix to respond to changes in the market and evaluate program success for future planning and effective budget management.
  • Proactively collaborate with various GTM teams to plan and execute larger portions of owned (DASH, Datadog Summit, and Datadog Live) and sponsored partner events (i.e. Reinvent & AWS Summits).
  • Partner with Datadog’s experienced recruitment and HR team to recruit, hire and onboard new team members.
  • Lead and inspire a talented team of marketers, providing effective management, motivation, and guidance to support their career development and ensure the achievement of performance metrics.

Who You Are

  • A leader who consistently applies a growth mindset to execute a multi-touch, multi-channel go-to-market strategy, surpassing both goals and industry standards.
  • In depth Marketing experience working in the Public Sector (Both FED and State/Local)
  • Team-oriented approach ensures seamless alignment across the organization. 
  • Thrive on data and engage with systems to collect, analyze and share data relative to your programs for pipeline planning.
  • 15+ years of relevant Public Sector marketing experience in B2B SaaS, with 5+ years of leadership experience  
  • Outstanding organizational skills, ability to follow through, and capable of meeting deadlines while balancing multiple projects and priorities
  • Exceptional oral, written, and presentation skills
  • Experience with CRM (Salesforce), Google Suite, project management and sales enablement workflows.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
