We are seeking an experienced Technical Solutions Operations (TSO) Process Engineer to design and optimize the business processes that ensure our Global Technical Solutions Organization (TS) operates efficiently and achieves our strategic goals.  TSO also builds and administers the technology systems, automations and integrations to support our business processes and it is important that our processes are optimized to maximize business impact and  minimize technical “debt”.

 

Datadog’s TS team is comprised of 700+ customer-facing technical experts around the world from Sales Engineers, Technical Account Managers to Support Engineers that work with prospects and customers across their journey with Datadog to deliver outstanding customer experiences and drive growth through rapid product adoption.

What You’ll Do:

  • Strategic Partnership with Technical Solutions (TS) Leaders: Support TS leaders by understanding the business needs and prioritizing highest impact solutions based on business outcomes.
  • Process Design and Optimization: Design simple and user friendly processes that maximize business impact. Identify and evaluate opportunities for increased efficiency & better user experience, test hypotheses through analysis, and collaborate cross-functionally to implement improvements. 
  • Business Requirements Development: Translate prioritized business needs, objectives and optimized processes into requirements, work closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment.
  • Strategic Roadmap Development: Develop & execute a comprehensive roadmap to optimize processes and deliver innovative solutions that maximize business impact while minimizing technical debt.
  • Tools Innovation: Design and oversee the implementation of technology tools & systems, including AI, that enable TS teams to efficiently and effectively achieve their KPIs and strategic goals.
  • Process Lead: Establish best practices, enable, mentor & coach our team of Operations Engineers to establish standards, reusable best practices and frameworks for requirement gathering, workflows & process design / optimization, and solution design. 
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure that technology systems are scalable, reliable, and secure.
  • Work a hybrid model of 3-5 days in office per week. 

 

Who You Are:

  • 8+ years of experience in process engineering: designing and optimizing processes and systems to drive efficiency in the technology space  
  • Optimization Wiz: able to look at critical processes, identify commonalities across business needs, and recommend areas for simplification while maximizing business impact. Able to apply different optimization tools & frameworks with ease to solve for specific business challenges, i.e. BPM, Kaizen, Lean Six Sigma, process diagrams, user stories etc
  • Data driven: adept at analyzing data to inform recommendations, ensure impact is measurable to drive alignment 
  • Structured Thinking: Ability to clarify problems and define structures to resolve ambiguous challenges
  • Communication: Clear and concise verbal and written communication; ability to tailor communications and detail to specific audiences from VPs to Engineers to accomplish results
  • Customer-centric: Customer-first mindset (both internal and external customers)
