Security Engineer - Trust & Safety
Paris, France; Lisbon, Portugal; Madrid, Spain
User safety and platform integrity is critical to our business. Our customer’s success is our success. We’re looking for a Security Engineer to join us in taking a proactive, highly scalable, and data-centric approach to enabling a safe and trustworthy experience for the users of our rapidly growing and increasingly interactive platform. You’ll fight against threats to our users, platform abuse, and other potentially risky and unwanted behaviors on our platform. Our team covers a broad range of trust and safety related topics from threat detection, security research, engineering, incident response, data science, user engagement, privacy, and bridging gaps between security and the broader Datadog business. You will bring expertise in a few of these areas. You’ll join a growing security team at an ideal time for making a big impact. The product is seeing very high growth, with the platform becoming more interactive with new products and features developed regularly.
At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.
What You’ll Do:
- Fight against threats to user safety (such as account takeover, publicly leaked tokens, privileged access abuse, fraud, etc)
- Develop risk scoring algorithms to classify potentially risky behavior or activity on our platform
- Build and implement near real-time detection and prevention capabilities that protect our platform and our customers
- Craft novel security detection rules and alerts, and create associated incident response runbooks and tools
- Work in a highly collaborative role, often engaging with engineering teams beyond security
- Have a direct impact on users and the overall trust of our platform
Who You Are:
- Experienced working with data for analysis, threat detection, anomaly detection, or monitoring purposes
- Fluent in one or more modern coding languages (Python, Go, JavaScript, etc.)
- Knowledgeable of potential threats to user safety in modern SaaS applications
- Familiar with large scale incident response and alert triage
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, high growth environment
Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you’re passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.
Benefits and Growth:
- New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP)
- Continuous professional development, product training, and career pathing
- Intradepartmental mentor and buddy program for in-house networking
- An inclusive company culture, ability to join our Community Guilds (Datadog employee resource groups)
- Access to Inclusion Talks, our Internal panel discussions
- Free, global mental health benefits for employees and dependents age 6+
- Competitive global benefits
Benefits and Growth listed above may vary based on the country of your employment and the nature of your employment with Datadog.
