We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead Automated Insights, a team within our Internal Analytics organization. Internal Analytics is a fast-paced group, aimed at helping the company make data-driven decisions by collecting, storing, transforming, analyzing, and modeling data with cutting-edge open-source technologies!

Automated Insights, specifically, helps teams around Datadog derive high-quality insights from data and take action upon it, through automation, data science, and machine learning. We tackle projects for the company such as determining a customer’s propensity to convert and try our products, optimizing our campaigns and outreach, and automatically surfacing what customer cohorts exist and who to target. As a leader of this team, you’ll work with full-stack Data Scientists with knowledge of data engineering, data science, and machine learning, to build out high-scale data pipelines and production-ready data science models.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead a team of data scientists and data engineers in improving business outcomes by extracting and serving insights from data
• Design and build software systems that extract insights from data, using programming languages like Python and Scala, as well as SQL
• Use machine learning and statistics to build production models that drive business analytics and decision-making internally
• Enable teams across the company, including Strategy, Marketing, and Technical Solutions to utilize data science as part of their workflow
• Wear multiple hats: software engineer, data engineer, and data scientist, in order to build production systems from end-to-end

Who You Are:

• A software engineer and data scientist at heart, with the ability to explain advanced technical concepts in a simple manner and cater to your audience
• Experienced in applying machine learning to real business problems
• A proven ability to architect, build, and operate distributed systems to solve problems at high scale
• A passion to work in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment to build a brand new division

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at Datadog ranges from $187,000 to $240,000, plus a competitive equity package, and may include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
