Data Analyst - Customer Strategy & Operations

You will join a unique Strategy and Operations team driving Datadog’s next phase of growth. We are interdisciplinary thinkers leveraging diverse business backgrounds in management consulting, data analysis, finance and tech to accelerate Datadog’s global growth. We work directly with teams & senior leadership across Datadog to set strategy, improve efficiency across the business, support data-driven decision-making, own complex operations and more.

As a Data Analyst on the Customer Strategy & Operations team, you will work closely with our Customer Success team to ensure they have all the data resources they need to work effectively. Our world class Customer Success team builds and manages relationships with our customers, proactively driving adoption across our existing customer base through onboarding, upselling, and cross-selling.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build actionable visualizations that will help CSMs and the CS Leadership team make strategic decisions.
  • Work closely with the CS leadership team and the Customer Strategy & Operations team to design the data strategy and roadmap for the customer success team.
  • Help CSMs understand our product usage and user behavior and facilitate data-driven decision making.
  • Answer questions from CSMs and leaders, and synthesize those questions into a suite of self-serve resources.
  • Present findings to team leads and executives.
  • Train other employees to use data to answer questions without assistance.
  • Be part of a Datadog-wide community of Data Analysts and receive technical mentorship.

Who You Are:

  • You have 2+ years experience as a Data Analyst and have mastered data analysis and visualization using Business Intelligence tools such as Metabase, Looker, or Tableau
  • You are fluent in writing analytical SQL, are able to write complex queries with no assistance, and understand the difference between SQL that works and performant SQL
  • You are a clear, concise communicator that works well with others
  • You can explain complex datasets or queries to non-technical people in understandable ways
  • You have a natural curiosity and investigative mindset - driven to know “why”
  • You have experience working with large customer and product data sets 
  • You are interested in becoming an expert on Customer Success

Bonus Points:

  • You have experience with data warehouses such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery
  • You have experience working with APIs and a programming language such as Python 
  • You’ve worked with Customer Success or have been a CSM in the past!

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at Datadog ranges from $98,000.00 - $125,000.00, plus a competitive equity package, and may include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
