Datadog's Finance team collaborates with teams across the organization, providing commercial, operational and analytical support to ensure that Datadog's business continues to scale rapidly and efficiently. As the lead of “total company” FP&A , you will be tasked with analyzing and forecasting global expense, cash flow, and headcount data, while informing the company’s operations through annual budgeting and quarterly execution against that budget. You will be a close partner to the accounting, procurement, and people teams, to ensure consistent data, interpretation of results, and operating framework. Reporting to the VP of FP&A, you will make and coordinate quarterly board of director materials, build and maintain complex models, as well as deliver improved automation/systematization over time.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own the company’s global expense and cash flow forecasting and analytics
  • Lead global headcount reporting and analytics; partner with the People team for headcount data
  • Be responsible for financial (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) consolidation and analysis for the FP&A team
  • Coordinate annual planning and budget-vs-actual processes, including standard templates and processes across the company
  • Scenario analysis of headcount / T&E / discretionary spend for profitability outcomes 
  • Work with the VP FP&A and CFO on quarterly Board materials, including coordination and consolidation across stakeholders
  • Partner with the Accounting team for monthly / quarterly flux analysis and financial close items
  • Partner with Procurement for PO approval process, data cleanliness, and understanding the impact to expense/cash forecasts
  • Partner with IR for earnings preparation, which may include but not limited to: financial statement consolidation and understanding financial trends related to expense/cash/profit
  • Partner with Corp Dev for financial modeling of M&A transactions
  • Own the use of planning tool(s), Workday Adaptive Planning 
  • Work on other ad hoc projects and analytics
  • Work as a part of the broader FP&A team to understand the company’s financials, analytics, and help the organization to scale thoughtfully

 Who You Are:

  • 7+ years of professional experience in FP&A and investment banking, equity research, consulting, or other relevant field  
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or economics 
  • Mastery of Excel and PowerPoint with proven experience in building financial models and managing complex data  
  • You are a clear, concise communicator that works well with others

Bonus Points:

  • MBA or CFA is a plus but not required; 
  • Solid understanding of Workday Adaptive Planning is a plus, but not required
  • Experience in or understanding of a consumption-based software business model

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at Datadog ranges from $186,000.00 - $240,000.00, plus a competitive equity package, and may include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
