Datadog's Finance team collaborates with teams across the organization, providing commercial, operational and analytical support to ensure that Datadog's business continues to scale rapidly and efficiently. 

This is a unique opportunity to drive the intersection of data and finance as a part of the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team at Datadog. As a senior data analyst, you will be tasked with building, owning, and maintaining our global ARR/revenue forecast, and automating ARR analytics and reporting. You will drive critical metrics for our high-growth business, which are central to decision making from our executive team and board of directors. You will report to Senior Manager FP&A, work closely with our VP of FP&A, and work collaboratively with our Strategy and Ops and Revenue teams, among others.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own global near-term ARR (annual run-rate revenue) forecasting
  • Enhance existing usage trend analysis and forecasting, while understanding the intersection of commercial activity
  • Extrapolate near-term forecast to intermediate and long-range planning and scenarios
  • Drive automation of ARR analytics and reporting, and the democratization of customer/ARR data to key stakeholders
  • Work with massive data reports to analyze sales and operating performance that will help make important business decisions 
  • Work as a key member of the FP&A Top-Line team to holistically understand historical and forecast ARR/revenue data
  • Partner with the Strategy and Operations team to influence the business to grow intelligently
  • Partner with Datadog’s Internal Analytics team to build out and maintain analytics consistent with the company’s data and tooling
  • Along with manager, present weekly/monthly/quarterly forecasts to business partners and executives, including CFO, CEO, and CRO
  • Work as a part of the broader FP&A team to understand the company’s financials, analytics, and help the organization to scale thoughtfully
  • Train other employees to use data to answer questions without assistance.

 

Who You Are:

  • 3+ years of professional experience, in data analytics, investment banking, consulting, and/or FP&A
  • A mastery of data analysis and visualization using Business Intelligence tools such as Metabase or Tableau
  • You are fluent in writing analytical SQL and Python, are able to write complex queries with no assistance
  • You can explain complex datasets or queries to non-technical people in understandable ways
  • You have a natural curiosity and investigative mindset - driven to know “why”
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • You are a clear, concise communicator that works well with others

 

Bonus Points:

  • Experience working with large customer and product data 
  • Experience with data warehouses such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery
  • Experience building forecasts and/or predictive models
  • Experience in or understanding of a consumption-based software business model

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at Datadog ranges from $125,000 - $150,000, plus a competitive equity package, and may include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
