Team Lead, Expert Services Architecture

We are Datadog's in-house deployment experts. The Expert Services team enables new and existing customers to successfully deploy all aspects of Datadog using a guided, timeboxed, pair-programming methodology that is unique in the industry. Every Expert Services Architect (ESA) is focused on delivering pre-defined, specifically scoped engagements to our customers in order to help our customers become Datadog experts and drive adoption internally. We do this by utilizing screen share technologies to perform “guided hands-on-keyboard” operations with our customers. You will lead and coach a talented team of individual contributors as they work with multiple customers and a myriad of technologies. You will lead a team of individual contributors and be immersed in a fast-paced environment where you will be challenged, but will also immediately witness your contributions to Datadog and to our customers.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage, develop, and mentor a fast-paced team of ESAs.
  • Identify needs for internal and external processes and services, and is proactive in proposing solutions, designing and implementing them.
  • Lead recruiting efforts to find and hire top talent within your region. 
  • Ensure successful onboarding, development and education of new and existing ESAs.
  • Streamline communication and feedback directly with our Datadog customers from a leadership level.
  • Report on the capacity planning and scheduling of individual contributors.
  • Develop and ever-board the training and certification process for regional partners aligned with the Expert Services offerings
  • Train and enable sales representatives in your region to understand how to position and sell Expert Services.
  • Act as an escalation point for customers and ESAs to provide guidance, technical assistance and issue resolution when needed.
  • Lead weekly, monthly and quarterly meetings with your team.
  • Work closely with the greater Technical Solutions leadership and other groups throughout the organization (Sales, Customer Success, Engineering, Product) to tackle urgent matters and to implement process improvements.

Who You Are:

  • Passionate about people management, building culture and growing careers
  • Experienced in 2-3 years in leadership in a Presales, Post Sales, Consultancy or adjacent customer facing role with a successful track record
  • Self-motivated, detail-attentive and have a desire for continuous learning 
  • A critical thinker who leads with a client-centric consultative approach
  • Experienced in successful creation and implementation of process and procedure in a rapidly scaling company
  • Comfortable in high pressure situations
  • Understand concepts around current infrastructure trends and monitoring solutions and technologies
  • Previous experience working in a and/or fast-paced organization

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at Datadog ranges from $146,000 - $213,000, plus a competitive equity package, and may include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
