Group Product Manager - Events Platform

As Datadog is growing, the need for platforms (common backends that every product can rely on) is becoming more and more essential.

The Event platform is the core intake, processing, storage and query system for all time based event products such as Log Management, APM, Security monitoring, RUM and others.

As a Group PM of the Event Platform, you will be leading the current team of 2 PMs to make this critical platform always easier to onboard new products as well as expanding its capabilities to address the most advanced requirements of Datadog products.

You’ll join at an ideal time to make a big impact, the platform is seeing very high and steady growth, with many new features to build as well as a need for scaling up dramatically.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Collaborate with all Product teams in Datadog to understand their need and address them
  • Support and guide the research needed to clarify potential new products and features
  • Have exec-level conversations internally and externally, problem solving for business topics, but with a realistic grasp of the technical constraints at play
  • Help others remove roadblocks towards meeting team goal
  • Keeps the team focused on delivering value to business/customers
  • Manage PMs on your team, keeping them happy, challenged, motivated, and growing professionally
  • Delegate responsibilities to team members in order to help them grow and help identify career growth opportunities
  • Communicates team goals, expectations and priorities

 

Who You Are: 

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager
  • Experience building PM teams for some years and know the products you’ve worked on from top to bottom
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A passion to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment to build brand new products or scaling existing ones
  • Understands the basics of web technologies and some of the current and emerging trends our teams and customers are using, e.g. cloud services, containers, serverless.

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at Datadog ranges from $234,000 - $300,000, plus a competitive equity package, and may include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
